New Street Art created 28 May 2020 depicting Portuguese painted tiles known otherwise as ‘Azulejos’.  Azul is the Portuguese word for Blue.Underneath the surface of the tiles, as if they were almost wallpaper being torn, is the word ‘Saudades’.  This word has the meaning of ‘longing for’, generally a feeling of missing something or someone and representing melancholy or nostalgia.  Often used in poetry or songs.  One can send a postcard or letter and simply write…”Saudades’.
